Chili Garlic Potato Bites

Chili Garlic Potato Bites Recipe

Chili Garlic Potato Bites are perfect for a quick snack in the evening with family or as a side dish or for potlucks and picnics. These potatoes are perfect on their own. All you need is a spoon to dig in.

These potatoes are irresistibly delicious, addictive sweet, and spicy appetizer where the crispy golden potatoes are glazed with honey, chili sauce, or sriracha sauce. This is definitely worth a try and I am sure it will be a crowd-pleaser for your next cocktail/mocktail party, football party, super bowl, game night, or other social gatherings.

This is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese fusion recipes in India. I love street food and Chili Garlic Potato Bites is one of them. You can get it on the side carts in India or make it at home as it is super simple to make.

Ingredients

How to make Chili Garlic Potato Bites?

  1. Wash potatoes well under running water. Place them in a large pot half full with warm water. Bring potatoes to a boil and cook for 7-9 minutes (they should be almost cooked). Drain, cover to keep warm, and set aside. You can use store-bought boiled potatoes instead like I did.

2. Sprinkle corn flour, all-purpose flour, salt, red chili powder over potatoes. Mix well to coat. Another way is to make a paste with water and then mix potatoes.

3. Heat oil in a pan. Add the coated potatoes to the pan and fry until crispy. You can either stir fry or deep fry as you’d like.

In a separate pan, add chopped garlic, and saute for a few seconds until the raw smell goes away. Add potatoes, chili flakes, sesame seeds, tomato ketchup, sriracha, and saute for 2-3 minutes. Now add vinegar and soy sauce, and stir together.

4. Turn off the heat. Pour honey and mix well. Sprinkle spring onion and sesame seeds. Serve hot with sliced onion but it’s optional.
