Aloo Chaat Recipe I Potato Chaat Recipe

Aloo chaat is one of the popular street food in various parts of India. This is a delicious, tangy spicy snack that’s full of flavors and texture.

Aloo chaat can be consumed as an appetizer, or as a snack. This popular and yummy snack can be made in a variety of ways but the Delhi style aloo chaat is my favorite recipe. This savory snack is made with boiled potatoes(then fried), chopped onion, topped with sev, creamy curd, pomegranate seeds, cilantro leaves, green chutney, tamarind chutney, and spices.

How to make Aloo Chaat?

  1. Firstly, boil the potatoes, peel the skin, and cut them into cubes. Do not overcook them as they will turn mushy. If you prefer to deep fry the potatoes then just parboil them for a while.

2. Heat oil or butter in a pan. Add potatoes and fry until golden brown.

3. Transfer to a bowl. Add chopped onion, salt, red chilly powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and toss well.

4. Add green chutney, tamarind chutney and curd. Mix it.

5. Transfer the mixture to a serving plate or bowl. Top it with sev, chopped cilantro leaves and pomegranate seeds.
