Description
Aloo chaat is one of the popular street food in various parts of India. This is a delicious, tangy spicy snack that’s full of flavors and texture. Aloo Chaat can be consumed as an appetizer or as a snack.

- 4 potatoes (boiled or parboiled cut into cubes)
- 4 tbsp oil (or butter or ghee)
- 1 small sized onion (chopped)
- ½ tbsp red chili powder
- salt (to taste)
- ½ tbsp cumin powder (roasted)
- 1 tbsp chaat masala
- 2 tbsp green chutney
- 2 tbsp tamarind chutney
- ¼ cup sev
- 2 tbsp curd (or yogurt)
- 2 tbsp cilantro leaves (chopped)
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
Instructions
- Firstly, boil the potatoes, peel the skin, and cut them into cubes.
- Heat oil or butter in a pan. Add potatoes and fry until golden brown. Do not overcook them as they will turn mushy. If you prefer to deep fry the potatoes then just parboil them for a while.
- Transfer to a bowl. Add salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and toss well.
- Add green chutney, tamarind chutney and curd. Mix it.
- Transfer the mixture to a serving plate or bowl. Top it with sev, chopped cilantro leaves and pomegranate seeds.
- Serve immediately!
