Lassi is a traditional yogurt drink in the northern part of India and it’s hugely popular all across the subcontinent now. It is a MUST-DRINK approximately once every day in the summer along with a delicious punjabi meal.

Lassi is made using fresh yogurt and simple . It is very refreshing and helps cooling the body temperature during hot summer days and cures prickly heat. Since lassi is churned out of yogurt or dahi, it is quite beneficial for our digestive system. Lassi is a healthy summer drink and also helps the stomach to get rid of acids that cause indigestion and heartburn.

Different types of Lassi

The classic plain yogurt drink with a dash of salt or sugar is a favorite in every punjabi household,however, there are so many incredible variations of lassi that you can try.

Our traditional lassi can be modified by adding various fruits such as mangoes, banana, peach, kiwi and many more.

Add herbs – mint or basil leaves to savor the flavor.

Garnish with saffron or cardamom or chopped nuts – cashews or almonds or pistachios.

Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey
  • ΒΌ tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice

Instructions

  1. Put the yogurt, mint leaves, ice, sugar or honey and salt in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  3. Pour into glasses, add a mint sprig to garnish, if you'd like, and serve.

Notes
