  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 1x

Broccoli Raita is easy and healthy raita made with yogurt (curd), sautéed broccoli, and some spices.

  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups yogurt or curd
  • ½ tbsp green chili chopped
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • ½ cup broccoli grated
  • salt (as needed)

  1. Heat ½ teaspoon of oil in a pan. Add cumin (jeera) seeds and dried red chilies. Let them splutter. Then add green chillies, and ginger and saute for few seconds.
  2. Add chopped broccoli, and saute for 2-3 minutes till the broccoli is cooked well.Cool the mixture before adding to the yogurt.
  3. Whisk the yogurt or curd in a medium mixing bowl.
  4. Add sautéed broccoli mixture, salt and chaat masala. Taste at this stage to make sure the amount of salt and spices is enough.
  5. Broccoli Raita is ready. Serve chilled.

Tips & Variations:

  1. Use Greek Yogurt to make it Keto or low carb friendly.
  2. If the raita becomes too thick add some milk.
  3. Adding milk to the yogurt helps from turning sour. If you are using fresh yogurt then skip it.
  4. Saute broccoli and ginger as the raw broccoli and ginger don’t taste great with this raita. You can also add some grated carrots to this recipe.
  5. Add finely chopped mint(pudina) or coriander leaves.
